Should I major in mathematics?

I would get your teaching degree for middle or high school... & mathematics can be your focus. this way, higher math isn't too important & especially high school math, you use calculators so mental math isn't a big deal. plenty of really stupid people get teaching jobs, so I'm sure you'll be fine. As long as you love it (& it sounds like you do), you should be okay.
