Has the US Government been good stewards of our tax dollars? Would additional taxation resolve our problems?

I think taxes need to be raised for the wealthy as the whole Reaganomics trickle down supply side economics simply does not work and has done nothing but make the debt explode. That being said, it is all pointless if we don't have reforms on our spending too. Throwing money at a problem is never going to get you a real solution. Btw when i say wealthy i do not mean those who make 200k a year. I mean the mega corporations like GE who paid nothing in taxes because of the leaches they are that lobby for loopholes in the tax code.
